yStream ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.
Camera and Microphone
yStream uses your iPhone's camera and microphone solely to capture and encode your live stream. This data is transmitted directly to the streaming destination you configure (e.g. your own RTMP or SRT server, Twitch, or YouTube). We never receive, store, or process your video or audio on our servers.
Platform Credentials (Twitch & YouTube)
When you connect a Twitch or YouTube account, we receive an OAuth access token from that platform. This token is stored exclusively in your device's secure Keychain and is never transmitted to or stored by us. It is used only to authenticate API requests on your behalf (e.g. fetching your stream key or creating a YouTube broadcast).
Stream Configuration
Settings such as your streaming server address, stream name, resolution, and bitrate are stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device.
In-App Purchases
Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We do not collect or store your payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs any data collected during a purchase.
Email (waiting list only)
If you sign up for launch notifications on our website, your email address is stored by a third-party mailing list provider. We use this solely to send you one notification when yStream launches. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in that email.
The limited data described above is used solely to provide the core functionality of the app — streaming video and audio to your chosen destination, and authenticating with third-party platforms at your request.
All app data (credentials, settings) resides on your device and can be cleared at any time by disconnecting accounts within the app or deleting the app entirely. Waiting-list email addresses are removed from our mailing list upon your unsubscribe request.
yStream integrates with the following third-party platforms at the user's explicit request. Each has its own privacy policy:
yStream is a tool that enables users to transmit video and audio streams to destinations of their own choosing. We have no visibility into, and exercise no control over, the content of any stream transmitted through the app.
Users are solely responsible for ensuring that all content they broadcast complies with applicable local, national, and international laws, as well as the terms of service of any platform they stream to (including Twitch, YouTube, or any custom server). We expressly disclaim any responsibility or liability for user-generated content streamed via yStream, including but not limited to content that infringes intellectual property rights, violates privacy rights, or is otherwise unlawful.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, yStream and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the app, including but not limited to damages resulting from:
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Your use of yStream is at your sole risk.
yStream is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
